PostSubject: Barack Obama....friend or enemy?   Sat Jun 19, 2010 5:11 pm

While Obama continues to slate BP as the 'British Petroleum'company, has no-one told him that the company is now 61% owned by american investors and employs a majority of american's and finally that the part considered to have caused the oil spill was in fact made in America.

So is he a friend or foe of Britain? And should we immediately remove all our troops from Afghanistan and Iraq Question

I think we should treat all that America says or does with the utmost suspicion. They have proved time and time again what a self-seeking bunch they are. As for Obama he is just trying to make a name for himself by sucking up to the power base because don't forget he is only in his first term of office and I am sure he would like to serve a second term. As far as who should be blamed for the explosion and the subsequent pollution, how can the CEO of BP be held responsible for things that go wrong on a rig which is not even owned by them but leased to a third party? I was highly delighted when the bloke from BP stood up to the bullies in the US Congress and refused to allow them to put words in his mouth. But whilst Obama is searching for somebody to crucify on the altar of his popularity, why doesn't he have an enquiry into who caused the thousands of deaths and billions of dollars of damage in Iraq or force the Israelis to toe the line in the Middle East? The answer is simple, he would lose out because they all have teeth and would bite him on his butt. As far as Iraq and Afghanistan are concerned we should never have been there in the first place. We only went in on the coat-tails of the Yanks and should pull out immediately before more British troops are murdered by Washington and Whitehall.

BP have to swallow this and get on with the job of capping this deep sea well and cleaning up the resulting damage. They are a British company no matter that they have a large percentage of American investors, the buck stops with BP i'm sorry to say. The rest of the deep sea drilling rigs around the world and their owners must be relieved it was not one of theirs that blew out. affraid

In what sense a friend?

All around that Nigerian Delta system are poisoned and devastated fields, streams and rivers. Nigerian folk are resigned to a cruel fight against BP and its crude pals.

BP is owned by the UK and friends. It pays many Billions into UK and US national wealth via their exchequers, pensions and whatnot. This dirty company, like the Roman has washed its hands of Nigeria. Now BP and its US friends have poured their crude filth all around US waters. That they actually imagined they could saunter away without rebuke and recompense again is truly unbelievable.

Meanwhile the enemy of those abused Nigerian folk has been turned upon by its own kind. We should watch this space with great interest and some not little apprehension.

As for Obama? Don't you think he is a busted flush?
