I was saddened to hear that another Hull company is to finally close it's doors on July 1st 2010. I remember working very briefly for ADM when I was a contractor, painting, cleaning and being a general dogs body.

What a sad loss to the Cities industry.

My brother in law works there Mike, it is very sad. I`m pretty sure that all the employees have very long service in, with the shortest being about 15 years. Fingers crossed someone picks up on this loyalty and gives them all a chance.

It would be nice to see their hardwork appreciated. One of the hardest jobs I had involving painting the steam pipes one colour, the water pipes another and so on. The amount of times I slipped and put my hand onto a steam pipe! affraid

We had to clean an area called "Chocolate Alley" It was essentially a long alleyway that had numerous pipes and drains along it. The cocoa, fat, and other liquids would drain here and often set, turning hard. It was my job to wade among this and dig it up into buckets. It used to smell awful and the flies were horrendous!
