We visited Waddington airshow yesterday and had a wonderful day. Having been caught up in the horrendous traffic jams getting there last year - around four hours to get there, if I remember rightly - we set off almost at the crack of dawn this year. We arrived in plenty of time and it was a terrific show. Did anyone else go?

We didn't go, but a friend did, and his film and photo's are amazing. Hope you had a lovely day.

We certainly did. We like to round off the day by having a picnic tea whilst waiting for the rush to leave the airfield to clear. It was a tremendous display and the Red Arrows were superb, as were the Turkish Stars, the display team from the Turkish Air Force. Amazing stuff. The only thing missing was the parachute team, the Falcons, as the high winds made it impossible for that to happen.

What a shame. What other aircraft flew?

Now you are asking! I can't recall them all but they included Typhoon, Hawker Hunter, Harrier, Nimrod, AWACS, Chinook helicopter display, another massive helicopter I can't recall the name of, 3 Spitfires and a Messerschmit (probably spelt wrong!) shooting up the field, Blades display team - and many more. Loads of static displays, including to my husband's utter joy - a Mustang. Oh, of course, and a fly-by from the Vulcan.
