| Hi Holly, the plants and flowers are looked after by Continental Landscapes and I agree, they do a great job. The place is always full of colour and a pleasure to look at.
As for the fountains, I believe that they were stripped and cleaned last year with repair work being carried out.
It's nice on a warm day like today to walk by and feel the mist spray on your face. | |

| I have always loved the wonderful Queens Gardens. A beautiful oasis in the midde of our great city makes a lovely place to spend a warm sunny day. I don't get there very often nowadays, unfortunately, due to my health but I still think it is somewhere very special. | |

| It`s not just Queens gardens though. If there`s one thing HCC have always been good at, it`s the flower beds throughout the city. We`ve travelled all over the place in recent years and no one has such landscaped or pretty roundabouts as Hull. | |

| Couldn't agree more - the floral clock at the Spring Bank end of Ferensway is rather lovely too. | |

| I've said it before,Queens Gardens is a treat to see. Tourists rave about Princes St Gardens in Edinburgh and the castle as a backdrop, but Queens Gardens is every bit as nice and there are more shops in Hull offering more variety and no tourist tat! | |

| I forgot to mention,it would have been nice to add some photos of the floral display like we used to do on YourMail, but this site is quite limited in that respect. | |

| Whilst on the subject of attractive displays and so on, I couldn't let the opportunity go by to big up the refurbished fountain in The Boulevard. It is a wonderful job and a great credit to this friendly city of ours. Harry and Tigerlily are right when they point out how outstanding HCC have always been in their gardens and parks departments. Hull's biggest drawback is that HCC seem to have little or no interest in bigging-up its image around the rest of the country and the world. It is almost as if the powers that be think that because everybody outside (and some inside) Hull seem to slag off the city then nobody will be interested in hearing the brilliant things about us. The City needs an enormous and well-funded publicity machine and maybe one day the world will see Hull for the wonderful and diverse cosmopolitan place it is and begin to start investing in us with all our talents and skills. I love Hull and I have never been able to understand anybody who doesn't after living here. | |
