If you know of any good hotel or guest house let others know. Also any travel firms and holidays abroad are welcome
We often go on National Holidays for their trips.Last weekend we had a three day trip to the Lake District.Hotel in Kendal was good,as were the included steam train ride and the cruse on Lake Windermere.Visits to Coniston,Ambleside and Keswick were included, even if the driver got lost five times! He was going to go to Hawkshead from Coniston, and then on to Kendal.Had to point out that that road was very narrow, and Lake Windermere was in the way!
Sugested another route which he took for a while, but he took a wrong turn again and we got stuck on a very narrow road.He said he had never been before.
But good value at £129 each for BB&EM.
The two day mystery trips are also good value at £50, and good fun, although the driver always wins the "guess where we are going"quiz!

We've been on a couple of National Holidays trips. Very good value for money.

Barrow, I sort of guessed that you would slip that very elderly joke about the driver always winning the guess where we are going competition. Excellent jokes the old ones, ain't they. A few years ago, I used to to go on Holiday with EYMS and they were brilliant value for money. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I need oxygen 24/7 it is no longer a practical proposition for me but I have a lot of friends who swear by nationa Holidays for good, cheap holidays. Also there are still very good deals to be had at the seaside in B&B accomodation and some of the landladies are such characters that you remember them for ever. So you see, we don't need to be jetting off to Spain or The Bahamas to have a good holiday

Don't just look on line for accomadation, call the local tourist information and ask for details on local hotels. I spent a while looking at hotels and found the ones online quite expensive, so when I visited I asked why this was, and a lot of the cheaper hotels don't place websites online.

Alan.I agree there are some good B&Bs in Britain. But we have been seaching for a cottage or caravan to rent in the next week or so.All were priced at £600 or more. Some on the coast are £700 a week.OK if you have a family, but we just wanted a week away for just the two of us.In the travel agents window, there were 7 days aways in Create flying from Humberside at £139 for self catering.
Why is Britain so expensive
Anyone know of a private caravan to hire on the coast on July 24 for a week or 31 July for a week?
