Don't forget the round the world clipper race will return on the weekend of Saturday 17th and Sunday the 18th of July. The marina area will play host to the Jazz and Maritime festival also.

Clipper 09/10 round the world yacht race
Saturday 17 July
Join in the free celebrations at Hull Marina and in the city centre as we welcome back the clipper fleet, returning to the city after their 35,000 nautical mile journey.

The Marina and waterfront and city centre
9.30am John Harrison Race from King George Dock to St Andrew’s Quay
10.30am Red Devils Freefall Parachute Display Team
11.45am Winner of John Harrison Race to lock in
12 noon 3rd place overall to lock in
12.15pm 2nd place overall to lock in
12.30pm Overall winner to lock in
12.45pm Julian Smith Saxophonist will play on the Clipper stage
1pm All boats to be berthed
1.30pm Black Cat Helicopter Display Team
2pm Clipper 09-10 presentations on the Clipper stage
3pm Music on the Clipper stage from Mitch Winehouse and others


Children's area 11am-5pm
Humber Street, Marina East, HU1 1TU
Pirate activities and recycled pirate ship plus traditional street games, exotic animals and much more.

Queen Victoria Square, HU1 3RQ, 10am-4pm
BBC stage with the best in community talent

Trinity Square, HU1 1RR, 11am–3pm
Time Troopers: the team will help you get your Hands On History including making Victorian toys.

Museums Quarter, HU1 1NQ, 11am-3pm
Grab a seat, listen to live bands, watch street dance and check out amazing work created by the young people of Hull.

Arc family open day, HU1 1UG, 10am–4pm
Blanket Row, Marina East
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city at Arc’s beach and decking area with children's building, making and printing activities.

John Harrison Exhibition Saturday 3-5pm, Sunday 9am-5pm
Humber Quays Two
John Harrison's motto; 'determined not deterred' aptly describes his struggle in solving the Longitude problem and is documented in this exhibition.


Weekend of fun
The waterfront will be alive with activity incorporating Hull’s Jazz festival as well as the ever popular Maritime festival. Formerly known as Sea Fever, the Maritime festival features live music, arts, crafts, and examples of traditional barges and sailing craft.

Some of my photo's from the return of the clipper's. The Hull and Humber came in 4th place!!

The album includes the Red Devils and Black Cats aerial display teams.

Good to see all the people at the Marina and enjoying all the activities.Only problem was that Castle Street was closed on saturday and Hull centre was total gridlock.
Our bus took 45 minutes to go from the interchange to Telelphone House,then another 30 minutes to reach the hospital.
